Sermon, November 23, 2008
I loved the story that Pastor Tommy pulled into the sermon about Stuart Hamblen. I had never heard the story before, although I've certainly heard the song! (If you want to know the story, I guess you'll just have to listen to the sermon!)
So, it's only fitting that I've chosen this song for Music Monday. The words are especially meaningful to me as I struggle to get used to life without my Sweet Hubby. I will not lie. It is hard and many, many times I do not think that I can do this. "This" being learn to live without him. I don't want to. But I've been given no choice. For reasons only the Lord knows, my Sweet Hubby has been called Home and I am left here. So I just pray to get through another day...and then another.

It Is No Secret ~ Stuart Hamblen/Billy Graham Crusade circa 1963
The chimes of time ring out the news,
Another day is through.
Someone slipped and fell.
Was that someone you?
You may have longed for added strength,
Your courage to renew.
Do not be disheartened,
For I have news for you.
It is no secret what God can do.
What He's done for others, He'll do for you.
With arms wide open, He'll pardon you.
It is no secret what God can do.
There is no night for in His light
You never walk alone.
Always feel at home,
Wherever you may go.
There is no power can conquer you
While God is on your side.
Take Him at His promise,
Don't run away and hide.
What He's done for others, He'll do for you.
With arms wide open, He'll pardon you.
It is no secret what God can do.
"That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should show light to the people, and to the Gentiles." Acts 26:23

INVITATION
Invited hereby to my site
please be. You see I poems write
and knight like fight and youth alight.
This poem says it. Godly, right?
I want more readers. I want you
to come as if out from the blue
and tell me what I write is true
and make my motivation new.
Why you? This is not spam, God’s dear.
I stand by what I do. I care.
Your senseless love to me I fear.
I mean it. I am good. Take care.

I remember hearing "IT is No Secret What God Can Do" since I was a child.
It is in God's strength that we have our best strength, even when we are too weak to do anything.
Blessings, Gigi.

Some days it will be minute by minute. A favorite quote of mine is from Elizabeth Elliot-"Do the next thing". Praying for you tonight.
Vicki and I pray for your ability to move forward. I do not want to see the day when I may be the one left and my wife has moved on. But, I know it will happen. It happens to all of us.
And so, I see you as having a quality of strength I will want for myself. There is no doubt that you are hurting. But, you have shown all of us how to put one foot in front of the other. And you are doing it.
Blessings, Gigi
