Here's one of the endorsements that caught my eye...
"An exceptional piece of writing that ushers you directly into the heart and nature of God in the midst of agonizing human suffering. This amazing story will challenge you to consider the person and the plan of God in more expansive terms than you may have ever dreamed."If you've never read David Gregory's book "Dinner..." I can highly recommend that book as well! Unusual concept but really gets you thinking!
David Gregory, author of Dinner With a Perfect Stranger
I would love to hear about some of your favorite Christian books! Have you read anything lately that stirred you? Moved you? Set you on fire for the Lord? C'mon - share!!
We'd love to do the same...in fact, my Sweet Hubby and I will pass our copies of The Shack on to the first two posters on today's blog...
But let him who is taught in the word share all good things with him who teaches. Galatians 6:6

You know I want to be first :-)
The most recent book I've read is "Cure For The Common Life" by Max Lucado. When we were traveling last weekend, I passed another passenger on the plane (a man) who had it sitting on his lap. I had to stop and let him know what a great book he was reading. He said he hadn't started it yet and smiled when I told him that I had just finished it and my husband was now reading it. Strangers passing, with a common thread.... it felt good. J
Hahahaha - don't even need to ask for your address! As soon as I've finished it, I'll mail it off to you...but have your Kleenex ready! So is T enjoying "Cure for the Common Life" so far?
Hi Gigi,
I already have The Shack, so save your other copy for the next poster :) I haven't read it yet, though. Just need to find the time! I've heard so many good things about this book.
A book I've been recommending lately is Prayer: Does it Make any Difference? by Phillip Yancey. It's a great book for self or group study...it has truly changed the way I look at prayer.
Hope you and Sweet Hubby are doing well this weekend! *hugs and prayers*
Found your site by way of New Jersey Jesus (love that site the same as you!). Not sure if you want to mess with getting me a copy of your book, but I was intrigued that even in your obvious time of need, you were thinking of others. Wow, that in itself is a testimony!
I pray your faith continues in the power and might of our Great Physician, Jesus Christ. I also pray for you and your Sweet Hubby that the peace of God that passes understanding would guard your hearts and your mind while walking through your time of need. God Bless.
Gail - I hope you'll have time to read The Shack soon!! You'll certainly be blessed by it...And we had an amazing weekend! I hope you did too!
Trudy - thanks for stopping by! I love NJJ's blog! He makes me laugh...I would love to send you the other copy of The Shack!! I'm sure you'll love it! Hope you'll visit again soon!
I'm a little embarrassed. :\ I went to the church website to make sure you could easily find the mailing info and discovered our book of the month is none other than "The Shack". I thought I recognized the name of the book. We actually discussed it from behind the pulpit Sunday morning! (I'm feeling a little red in the face right now.)
I don't stay up with the book of the month because I have other studies I have to keep up with right now and I can't keep up with all the reading, so I let the book club go. You might check out the book club blog. I'm sure you would enjoy the posts right now.
Thanks again...PT
Too funny Trudy!! Thanks for the invite - I will check out the book club blog...sounds fun!
Wow! Just got your comments on my blog. Thank you, and feel free to add. I love adds. :) Makes me feel special like.
I read all your posts from the top on down to here, it's an awesome read. Good thoughts - I'll have to leave more comments.
Books, books - I'm a book junkie, I read so much, it's crazy. One of my favorite books is No Compromise, by Melody Green. It's about the life of Keith Green - if you've heard of him, good. If not, check him out. He's got some of the most amazing music, and an amazing testimony of his walk with the Lord.
Thank you LoriKate...you're officially "added!" No Compromise - I'll be checking that out! Thanks for the recommendation...I'm a reader too!
Gigi,
I am not sure how you found Caden's Page, but I am glad you did. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. Your comment led me to your blog. Your blog is a great find for me and I have added you to my feed reader.
I read The Shack last week. I finished it in one week during a business trip to Baltimore. My pastor mentioned it in a sermon recently. That was the first book other than the Bible that I have read cover-to-cover in my life. I loved it and it has helped me with my perspective on Caden's pain.
Hi GiGi,
Thanks for stopping by. Love your blog!
I do what I can to live a good life and help all the people I can and I pray for the rest.
I haven't read the book, The Shack but it sounds like a book I would like. I'm ready for a new book to get into.
You ask for some recommendations and I have more than my share. I have three good ones for you:
The first one is a devotional as is the next one on the list. I do a lot of paper work and reading for my job and sometimes have trouble focusing on long chapters in a book. I read a devotional each night before going to sleep.
1. Sunset with God -A Meditation to end your day with God.
2. God's Little Devotional Book for Women. (neither have an author listed, they just say Honor Books)
3.And my favorite: My Grandfather's Blessings, by Rachel Naomi Remen,MD (this book made me laugh and made me cry). It's very well written).
Prayers and Sunshine to you both
