Yeah, He loves us!!

Some days I feel an extra portion of God's love for me. It's usually delivered on the wings of angels I like to call "friends." I have been blessed with some very special ones. And this past year, I have needed them (more than ever). Oh. So. Very. Much.

On Saturday, I was lucky enough to spend the day with a wonderful friend, JJ. We've know each other for a long time, but we don't get to see each other very often. But I will tell you...this woman has been faithfully calling me every day. That's right...every day. For months and months and months and...well, you get the point. "How are you? Just calling to check in and see how things are going..." Now, I'll tell you something...I don't always answer my phone. Some days I just don't have it in me to talk to anyone. But you know what? She's OK with that...she knows that when I come up for air, I will call.

Oh, and did I mention that she has twin infants? And a 5 year old? Yet, she manages to find time in her craaaaazy life to reach out to me, her friend, every day. Did I mention that she calls every day?

So, Saturday, after more than a month of planning - we actually got to spend time, just the two of us (thanks T!!) shopping...lunching...laughing...spending...chatting. It was so much fun. And all that much sweeter because we don't get to do it often. Ahhhhhh. It was wonderful!

Yeah. He loves us!! And sometimes that love comes in the form of a hug (or a phone call!) from a friend. JJ...today's Music Monday selection is for you - thanks for the day!

I am so happy for you that you have JJ. We recently had another unexpected cancer death in our church a couple of weeks ago. I heard a friend of the wife, say she knew that after a few weeks when everything died down, everyone would get back to their busy lives but hers has stood still at the point of where her husband died. So I want to be JJ in her life. What a treasure you have. Which you already know right?

Thank you, Jody...yes, I am blessed. Your post made me cry. Sadness for the woman who has just lost her husband and sadness that the words you wrote (regarding people getting back to their normal lives while hers is forever changed) are so very true. Please do be her "JJ" - I assure you she will need one. And on her behalf, I thank you.

Gigi,
Thank you. Thanks for the wonderful day that I so very much needed and insist that we do it more often. Thanks for your generosity that you have shown to my family. Thanks for the wonderful post that you published, it made me cry. Thanks for knowing how very special our friendship is to me. Thanks for helping me on my spiritual journey that I recently started, it is such a wonderful feeling to be able to share it with you. Thanks for the song on your post, meant a great deal that you remembered how much I loved it. Most of all, thanks for being you.

There are so many other things that I want to thank you for but it is just too many to list. Please know how much you mean to me and how much your post touched my heart!

Some people have a natural gift for being good friends. We could always learn a little something from them. :)

What a wonderful Friend Gigi! May the Lord continue to flourish and bless this friendship. Those kind don't come along very often. May God bless you both as well :)
