Hey Hey Hey!

It's FAT ALBERT!!!

And he's just bursting forth all over with new buds...new LIFE!

Every day, another one...and another one!!

And yes, he is still decked out in all his Christmas finery...my family has not "celebrated" Christmas yet. Hopefully, we will have all gotten together before planting time!

"Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit." Matthew 12:33

I'm sorry no one guessed it...I thought for sure someone would! So instead of a prezzie, I'll leave you with a couple of consolation prizes!

LuLu sends her love!

I had feeling it had something to do with a Christmas plant or flower, I just couldn't put my finger on it. I didn't know evergreen trees could but after they had been cut down.

Jody ~ Fat Albert is a living Blue Spruce. I just couldn't "do" a Christmas tree this year, but felt that I should have something for my family...I planned to plant Fat Albert (that's the name of the variety!) in my backyard come springtime, but as I told my best friend just this morning, he's been so neglected with me hardly ever home, barely remembering to water him, usually not pulling up the roman shades on my patio doors to give him some light...poor Fat Albert. So you can see why I was so thrilled to see LIFE!!!

I now remember your post about Fat Albert. How is your mom?

Thanks for asking Jody! Today was actually a pretty good day...she seems to be eating and drinking a bit better. I also got her up and out of bed for the first time in almost a week. She has just been so unmotivated lately - it's been like pulling teeth. No complaints today - it was a good day!

That is totally amazing - what happens next? I've never seen any bud like that on an evergreen.

You know, Dawn - I have NO idea!! I was stunned to see the "buds" myself...so I guess I'll have to wait and see. Although it almost looks like he's trying to put out new branches. It's still somewhat of a mystery!

Thanks Tamela! I'll be sure and give LuLu extra hugs tonight! Although, with Matthew home for the weekend, I'm a second class citizen with her...she just LOVES Matthew!
