Oh what a glorious day...

it will be when we hear that trumpet's call!

Today's Music Monday song celebrates that moment. I hope you enjoy it! I love thinking about our homecoming with Jesus!

Midnight Cry ~ performed by John Starnes

Lyrics:

I hear the sound
of a mighty rushing wind
and it's closer now
than it's ever been
I can almost hear the trumpet
as Gabriel sounds the chord
at the midnight cry
we'll be going home

When Jesus steps out
on a cloud to call His children

the dead in Christ shall rise
to meet Him in the air
and then those that remain
will be quickly changed
at the midnight cry (at the midnight cry)
when Jesus comes again

I look around me
I see prophecies fulfilling
and signs of the times
they're appearing everywhere
I can almost hear the Father
as He says
Son go get your children
at the midnight cry
the Bride of Christ will rise

When Jesus steps out
on a cloud to call His children
the dead in Christ shall rise
to meet Him in the air
and then those that remain
will be quickly changed
at the midnight cry (at the midnight cry)
when Jesus comes again

And then those that remain
will be quickly changed
at the midnight cry (at the midnight cry)
when Jesus comes again
at the midnight cry (at the midnight cry)
when Jesus comes again
when Jesus comes again

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord." 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

As a Licensed Master Esthetician, do you do eye liner? I've had mine done for years and really enjoy it as I swim a lot!

No, Nancy Grayce, I don't do permanent makeup. I focus my practice on advanced skin care treatments...I will be branching out into mineral makeup in the next few weeks though!

I'm glad you're enjoying your liner - I can see that it would be a wonderful thing for a swimmer!

I recall hearing "Midnight Cry" for the first time. I heard it sung by Pastor Bobby Nittz at Christian Fellowship Church in Vienna Virginia (Now in Loudoun County).

When Bobby sang it the first time I heard him, everyone stood to their feet in praise when he hit the line that says, "I can almost hear the Father say, Son, go get your children". Bobby is a baratone. When he hit that line, there was such power comming from within. I had the opportunity to hear him sing that song more than once and that line always received the same emotion from the congregation.

Thanks for bringing that memory back. I really liked that man.

Don't forget to say to your electrician, "April Fools".

Jim - glad you enjoyed "revisiting" this song! Yes, that line you quoted just gives me chills and I tear up every time just thinking about it! Knowing that I am counted among those children is such a wonderful gigt...

I'll try to remember to say "April Fool's!"
