However, with joy I say, none whom I have known well have appeared perfect in wisdom. Those whom I don't walk with closely have less flaws. Ha!
My great grandmother was insightful and a prayer warrior. My grandmother Alice on my other side was stalwart in her belief. My parents stand beside me when troubled. My husband is striving for wisdom. An elderly minister preached wisdom. When it was time for him to pass, he packed a suitcase, laid with his open Bible on his chest, and quietly walked to the throne of grace.
There are more. We all must surround ourselves with believers, not be disappointed in the faults nd short comings, but emphasis the positive and be encouragers.
I believe evenness of temperment can be a sign of wisdom. Most important, let us daily walk with the author of wisdom.
Blessings, Gigi. Always was slow to speak to the point that you would think he was ignoring you.
He told his Nazarene congregation that he was leaving the church to preach to whomever would hear the Weslyan/Methodist doctrin you will find in Nazarene churches. In 12years, his church went from having nothing but a home to meet with a handfull of people in, to one of the mega churches in Northern Virginia.jeleasurehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07573831215568628361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-976995100931611308.post-48993650745667242072008-09-04T19:54:00.000-04:002008-09-04T19:54:00.000-04:00Well, Happy Birthday Steve!! Her faith and strength sustained her family in times of trial and her love for her children and grandchildren still touches my heart to this day. I love meeting new friends.
I would have to say the wisest person I have ever known was my late Pastor. He passed away at age 48, so he's been "physically" out of my life for a long time, but I have such good memories of him and his teachings. He left me with many beliefs that I still hang on to and think about, almost on a daily basis. He was a soft spoken man, but when he spoke, he always had something worthwhile to say. He taught his children well and I am grateful for the knowledge that he left us with. My Mom, who also left this world way to soon, also taught us lessons that have made us who we are today. My brothers and I speak often of the lessons Mom and Dad taught us. Then there is my hubby, such a wonderful and caring person. My rock. He is wise on many levels and never ceases to amaze me with his wealth of knowledge, his compassion, his humor and most of all his never ending love, not just for me, but his family and friends. Then there is my amazing friend, G, who is more my sister than a friend. There is no doubt that God sent her to me many years ago. She is the first person I turn to, after my husband (or prior, if it is more of a girlie matter!) She is one of the most intelligent, perceptive, compassionate and loving people I have ever known. As I ponder the question of "the wisest", I cannot come up with just one answer. Each person comes with different qualities and areas of "wisdom". Thinking about this, I have come to the conclusion that I am even MORE blessed than I realized, because God has put people in my life that truly have enriched my life experience. Maybe "I" am wise to understand this and be open to what they have to teach me. So, as this day moves forward, I am sure this question will continue to pop into my mind and I will continue to add people to my list. Each of us has something to teach, but we must be open to the lesson. What is the saying? When the student is ready, the teacher will appear? God puts into our paths, our teachers. We must be open to the lessons.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10543013381884330459noreply@blogger.com
